The KM2K-Tanto is a fully-fledged combat and service knife developed by Waffentechnik Borkott & Eickhorn for the Bundeswehr infantry. Its design complies with military standards – the knife is designed for extreme loads, long-term field use and reliable performance even in the most demanding conditions.

Construction and materials

• Blade: 172 mm long Tanto blade made from 440A stainless steel (DIN 1.4110), 4.6 mm thick, with a blackened finish and an anti-corrosion protective coating.   
• Integrated sharpening: a sapphire sharpening stone built into the sheath for quick sharpening in the field.    
• Handle: ergonomic, made from PA6 GK30 (glass fibre-reinforced polyamide), non-slip, with a contoured thumb rest for precise control and a glass breaker at the end.

• Sturdy retaining spring.
• Drainage hole at the base of the sheath.
• Textile sheath: MOLLE / IdZ compatible, suitable for attachment to a vest, belt or body armour carrier.
