This SAN MARCO camouflage was>developed for the Italian Navy's COMSUBIN (Comando Raggruppamento Subacquei e Incursori Teseo Tesei) or Special Operations Group – a unit with tasks similar to those of the American SEALs – which received a similar camouflage pattern in 1990-92. It is essentially the same pattern as the BSM (Battaglione San Marco) pattern, with colours that are only one or two shades darker.
