The Kershaw Federalist is a traditional slipjoint folding knife without a lock, made in the USA. It combines the classic design of a pocket knife with modern materials and is suitable for everyday carry as well as outdoor use.
The Clip Point blade is made from CPM 154 powdered steel with a hardness of 58–60 HRC. This steel offers excellent edge retention, wear resistance, toughness and corrosion resistance. The blade has a plain edge, a flat grind and a Stonewashed finish.
The knife opens manually using a nail nick. The double system with two steel detent balls, positioned on the sides of the blade, helps keep the blade in the closed position and ensures controlled action when opening and closing. The half-stop position also increases control when handling the blade.
The handle is made from durable micarta with a canvas texture, which sits well in the hand and gives the knife a classic appearance. Details such as the lanyard hole, glass-filled nylon backspacer and decorative shield-shaped pin underline the character of the model.
