The USSF (United States Space Force) variant of the classic USMC knife, which was introduced in 1942. Unlike the original knife, the USSF variant is manufactured with a blue Kraton handle, and the metal parts of the knife are coated with a grey powder finish.
The smooth-edged blade is Bowie-shaped and made from 1095 Cro-Van high-carbon steel. For added safety, the knife is fitted with a plastic guard. The handle is barrel-shaped and features ribbing to improve grip. The pommel is flat and can be used for improvised hammering. The knife comes with a plastic belt sheath that is compatible with the MOLLE/PALS modular webbing system. The knife can therefore be attached to a wide range of compatible equipment, whether it be rucksacks, plate carriers or certain chest rigs.
