The TEEP RANGE EX are professional electronic ear protectors designed for sporting and service shooting, shooting training and work in high-noise environments. They combine effective hearing protection with an electronic ambient sound monitoring system, which allows the wearer to remain aware of their surroundings and communicate comfortably without having to remove the ear defenders. Compared to the standard TEEP RANGE model, they offer increased noise attenuation (SNR 30 dB), making them suitable even for more demanding noisy environments.
Four omnidirectional microphones, two on each ear cup, ensure precise capture of ambient sounds. Independent processing of the left and right audio channels helps to maintain spatial awareness and determine the direction from which the sound is coming. There are five gain levels available, allowing the sensitivity of the ambient sound amplification to be adjusted to current conditions.
The electronic system automatically limits the reproduction of loud sounds when a level of 82 ± 3 dB SPL is reached, with a response time of less than 10 ms. The ear cups themselves provide certified noise reduction of SNR 30 dB (H 33 / M 27 / L 20) in accordance with the EN 352 standard. For situations requiring a higher level of protection, a special mode is also available for simultaneous use with earplugs, enabling a combined noise reduction of up to 35 dB.
Power is supplied by an integrated Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 1,350 mAh, offering at least 200 hours of active use or 600 hours in standby mode. Charging takes place via a USB-C connector and takes approximately 4 hours. Useful features include a voice alert for battery status, automatic switch-off when not in use, and protection against unwanted discharge when switched off.
The headphones are designed for long-term use in demanding conditions. The construction meets the IP67 protection rating, which ensures dust resistance and protection against temporary immersion in water. The operating temperature range of -20 to +60 °C allows for use in a wide range of climatic conditions. The materials used also comply with the UL 94 V-2 flammability classification.
