The Leaf Boonie hat is a modern variation on the classic hat that was introduced into the US Army’s kit during the Vietnam War and has since been used by many armies in subsequent conflicts. Although the Boonie hat was designed primarily for use in hot tropical climates, it has found widespread use in various natural environments and is considered one of the most widely used military hats.
This hat model is made from high-quality ripstop fabrics. It features several improvements over the original design. The main improvement is the camouflage-patterned fabric flaps, which help to conceal the wearer. The brim of the hat has been slightly narrowed to prevent it from snagging on vegetation when moving through scrub and dense undergrowth. The hat allows twigs, leaves or artificial camouflage to be attached to enhance its camouflage properties.
A simple yet effective chin strap prevents the hat from slipping off the head whilst being worn. A polymer stopper allows for slight adjustment of its length.
