Woven wool blanket. As is well known, wool keeps you warm even when wet and has excellent properties. This blanket will keep you comfortably warm at all times, even though it may feel slightly itchy. Fire-retardant treatment. Material: 70% wool, 30% synthetic fiber. Weight: 1.7 kg.
Odor of the wool blanket – this is lanolin, a natural substance (chemically related to wax) that wool contains and that gives the fiber its fire resistance and overall durability. It is not a chemical additive. If the odor is strong or bothersome, do not wash the blanket under any circumstances. Washing could damage the fibers. Spread the blanket out in fresh air and let it air out for several days.
Wool products are “self-cleaning.” However, if you must wash the blanket, do not use any chemical detergents or fabric softeners. These could damage the natural properties of the fiber. Use cold water and, if your washing machine can accommodate the blanket, a gentle cycle. Dry flat, in the shade, away from direct heat sources or sunlight.
