The safety standard ANSI Z87.1 sets a clear standard for eye protection when wearing sunglasses. This standard is defined by the American National Standards Institute. ANSI Z87.1 tests examine the mechanical resistance of the glasses and their protection against UV radiation according to very strict criteria.
Wiley X glasses that meet this standard are tested for impact by a high-speed steel projectile with a diameter of 6.35 mm at a speed of 164.6 km/h and by the impact of a 500 g pointed cone dropped from a height of 127 cm.
Clear lenses transmit approximately 89% of light, making them the ideal choice for overcast days and poor visibility. They do not distort colours in any way, making them suitable for everyday work, cycling, hunting or shooting. 100% protection against UVA and UVB.
