Replacement lenses for WX APEX glasses POLARISED CAPTIVATE™ BLACK MIRROR

Replacement lenses for WX APEX sunglasses.

Enhanced detail with natural colour perception is a hallmark of CAPTIVATE™ Black Mirror polarised lenses. These lenses slightly balance the light spectrum, which helps light penetrate the eye more evenly. What’s more, these lenses allow you to perceive the same colour shades as you would without sunglasses, enabling you to see the colours of the world around you naturally. The added polarising filter eliminates strong glare from water surfaces. Suitable for everyday use. 100% protection against UVA/UVB radiation, protection against blue light (HEV). Base lens colour: grey

CAPTIVATE™ technology

CAPTIVATE™ lens technology redefines what you can expect from sunglasses. At the heart of this technology is a filter that removes harmful light whilst enhancing colours and contrast and increasing clarity. CAPTIVATE™ lenses also filter out optical haze and enrich colours, leading to a much better perception of space and depth. CAPTIVATE™ eliminates harmful UV and HEV radiation, which causes macular degeneration and cataracts.

Anti-reflective coating

The anti-reflective coating eliminates distracting light reflections on the back surface of the lenses and ensures that light is not reflected back into the eyes and does not distort vision. Lenses with an anti-reflective coating reduce blurring and provide you not only with greater comfort and clearer vision, but also ensure optimal conditions for your polarising filter.

T-Shell™ scratch-resistant coating

All lenses from the Wiley X brand feature the patented T-Shell™ coating. This coating prevents accidental damage to the lenses. When you choose Wiley X glasses, you not only get lenses made from top-quality material, but also a premium surface finish that ensures a long service life for your product.

Oleophobic coating

An oleophobic coating is a protective layer that prevents smudges. Applying this layer gives you lenses with a much smoother surface, which helps prevent dust, oil, dirt and water from sticking to the lenses. As a result, , this prevents smudges and water spots from forming on the lenses, making them easier to clean and helping to maintain a clean surface and perfect visibility for longer.

Selenite™ polycarbonate lenses

All Wiley X brand glasses come with lenses made from Selenite™ polycarbonate, whose structure consists of carbon and phenol atoms. These lenses offer up to ten times greater durability than standard glass lenses, whilst remaining lighter in weight. The reliability and, above all, the safety of the lenses are certified by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Despite their strength and weight, the lenses do not cause image distortion or reduce optical accuracy.

ANSI Z87.1

The safety standard ANSI Z87.1 sets a clear standard for eye protection when wearing sunglasses. This standard is defined by the American National Standards Institute. ANSI Z87.1 tests examine the mechanical resistance of the glasses and their protection against UV radiation according to very strict criteria.

Wiley X glasses that meet this standard are tested against the impact of a high-speed steel projectile with a diameter of 6.35 mm travelling at a speed of 164.6 km/h, and against the impact of a 500 g pointed cone dropped from a height of 127 cm.

ISO 12312-1

ISO 12312-1 is a standard setting out clear safety requirements for protection against potentially harmful solar rays during normal wear and whilst driving a motor vehicle. ISO 12312-1 is one of the standards which, once met, allows the use of the CE mark for use in EU countries.
