If you’re looking for lenses that will protect your eyes from harsh sunlight whilst maintaining almost the same colour perception as without sunglasses, the CAPTIVATE™ grey lenses are an excellent choice. These lenses help even light penetration into the eye by balancing the visible light spectrum. As a result, colours remain natural, with the exception of green hues, which are enhanced. A great choice for natural-looking colour enhancement and balanced contrast for everyday use. 100% protection against UVA/UVB radiation, protection against blue light (HEV). Base lens colour: grey

CAPTIVATE™ lens technology redefining what you can expect from sunglasses. At the heart of this technology is a filter that removes harmful light whilst enhancing colours and contrasts and increasing clarity. CAPTIVATE™ lenses also filter out optical haze and enrich colours, resulting in a much better perception of space and depth. CAPTIVATE™ eliminates harmful UV and HEV radiation, which causes macular degeneration and cataracts.

The anti-reflective coating eliminates distracting light reflections on the back surface of the lenses and ensures that light is not reflected back into the eyes and does not distort vision. Lenses with an anti-reflective coating reduce blurring and provide you not only with greater comfort and clearer vision, but also ensure optimal conditions for your polarising filter.

All lenses from the Wiley X brand feature the patented T-Shell™ coating. This coating prevents accidental damage to the lenses. When you choose Wiley X glasses, you not only get lenses made from top-quality material, but also a premium finish that ensures a long service life for your product.

An oleophobic coating is a protective layer that prevents smudges. Applying this layer gives you lenses with a much smoother surface, which helps prevent dust, oil, dirt and water from sticking to the lenses. As a result, , this prevents smudges and water spots from forming on the lenses, making them easier to clean and helping to maintain a clean surface and perfect visibility for longer.

All Wiley X brand glasses come with lenses made from Selenite™ polycarbonate, whose structure consists of carbon and phenol atoms. These lenses offer up to ten times greater durability than standard glass lenses, whilst remaining lighter in weight. The reliability and, above all, the safety of the lenses are certified by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Despite their strength and weight, the lenses do not cause image distortion or reduce optical accuracy.

The safety standard ANSI Z87.1 sets a clear standard for eye protection when wearing sunglasses. This standard is defined by the American National Standards Institute. ANSI Z87.1 tests examine the mechanical resistance of the glasses and their protection against UV radiation according to very strict criteria.

Wiley X glasses that meet this standard are tested against the impact of a high-speed steel projectile with a diameter of 6.35 mm travelling at a speed of 164.6 km/h, and against the impact of a 500 g pointed cone dropped from a height of 127 cm.

ISO 12312-1 is a standard setting out clear safety requirements for protection against potentially harmful solar rays during normal wear and whilst driving a motor vehicle. ISO 12312-1 is one of the standards which, once met, allows the use of the CE mark for use in EU countries.
