Enhanced detail with natural colour perception is a hallmark of CAPTIVATE™ Black Mirror polarised lenses. These lenses slightly balance the light spectrum, which helps light enter the eye more evenly. What’s more, these lenses allow you to perceive the same colour shades as you would without sunglasses, enabling you to see the colours of the world around you naturally. The added polarising filter eliminates strong glare from water surfaces. Suitable for everyday use. 100% protection against UVA/UVB radiation, protection against blue light (HEV). Lens technology CAPTIVATE™ redefines what you can expect from sunglasses. At the heart of this technology is a filter that removes harmful light whilst enhancing colours and contrast and increasing clarity. CAPTIVATE™ lenses also filter out optical haze and saturate colours, resulting in a much better perception of space and depth. CAPTIVATE™ eliminates harmful UV and HEV radiation, which causes macular degeneration and cataracts.

The anti-reflective coating eliminates distracting light reflections on the back surface of the lenses and ensures that light is not reflected back into the eyes, thereby preventing visual distortion. Lenses with an anti-reflective coating reduce glare and not only provide you with greater comfort and clearer vision, but also ensure optimal conditions for your polarising filter.

All lenses from the brand Wiley X are fitted with the patented T-Shell™ coating. This coating prevents accidental damage to the lenses. When you choose Wiley X glasses, you’ll not only get lenses made from top-quality material, but also a premium finish that ensures your product’s long life.

An oleophobic coating is a protective layer that prevents smudges. Applying this layer gives you lenses with a much smoother surface, which helps prevent dust, oil, dirt and water from sticking to the lenses. Ultimately, this prevents smudges and water spots from forming on the lenses, making them easier to clean and helping you maintain a clean surface and perfect visibility for longer.

All glasses from the brand Wiley X come with lenses made from Selenite™ polycarbonate, whose structure consists of carbon and phenol atoms. These lenses offer up to ten times greater durability than standard glass lenses, whilst remaining lighter in weight. The reliability and, above all, the safety of the lenses are certified by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Despite their strength and weight, the lenses do not cause image distortion or reduce optical accuracy.

Safety standard ANSI Z87.1 sets a clear standard for eye protection when wearing sunglasses. This standard is defined by the American National Standards Institute. ANSI Z87.1 tests examine the mechanical resistance of the glasses and their protection against UV radiation according to very strict criteria.

Glasses Wiley X, which meet this standard, are tested by the impact of a high-speed steel projectile with a diameter of 6.35 mm travelling at a speed of 164.6 km/h, and by the impact of a 500 g pointed cone dropped from a height of 127 cm.

ISO 12312-1 is a standard setting out clear safety requirements for protection against potentially harmful solar radiation during normal wear and whilst driving a motor vehicle. ISO 12312-1 is one of the standards which, once met, allows the CE mark to be used for products intended for use in EU countries.

A ballistic standard covering the Military Combat Eye Protection (MCEP) system (MCEP) Compliance with this standard guarantees eye protection against ballistic fragmentation, electromagnetic radiation and sand. Glasses complying with this standard must withstand impact from a .15 calibre projectile travelling at a speed of 768–796 km/h. Glasses meeting this standard are commonly used by most NATO armies.
