All Wiley X lenses feature the patented T-Shell™coating. This coating prevents unwanted damage to the lenses. When you choose Wiley X glasses, you not only get lenses made from top-quality material, but also a premium finish that ensures the long life of your product.

All Wiley X glasses come with lenses made from Selenite™ polycarbonate, whose structure is composed of carbon and phenol atoms. These lenses offer up to ten times greater resistance than standard glass lenses, while remaining lighter in weight. The reliability and, above all, the safety of the lenses are certified by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Despite their strength and weight, the lenses do not distort the image or reduce optical accuracy.

The ANSI Z87.1 safety standard sets a clear standard for eye protection when wearing sunglasses. This standard is defined by the American National Standards Institute. ANSI Z87.1 tests examine the mechanical resistance of glasses and their protection against UV radiation according to very strict criteria.

Wiley X glasses, which boast this standard, are tested by impact with a high-speed steel projectile with a diameter of 6.35 mm at a speed of 164.6 km/h and impact with a 500 g pointed cone from a height of 127 cm.

Compliance with the EN.166S standard means that the glasses will withstand without damage the impact of a steel ball with a diameter of 22 mm and a weight of 43 g at a speed of 18 km/h and from a distance of 1.3 m. To pass the test, the lens must remain firmly in the frame and the frame itself must remain undamaged.
