Everyday carry glasses with a slightly curved frame and removable protective side shields that perfectly protect the eyes from fine particles. If required, these side shields can be permanently attached to the glasses (they cannot subsequently be removed without damaging the frame), thereby providing a higher level of protection for tactical use. The temples are fitted with rubberised tips for maximum grip, and the nose bridge features the same finish.

This model features polarised lenses with premium CAPTIVATE™ technology

The frame is made from durable Triloid™ nylon, which ranks among the strongest non-metallic materials used in eyewear manufacturing. The lenses are made from premium Selenite™ polycarbonate. This material does not shatter upon impact with a projectile and also features a T-SHELL™ coating to protect against accidental scratches.

The built-in Polarized Filter 8™ in Wiley X glasses works by allowing only vertical light to pass through whilst absorbing horizontal light. Thanks to this feature, the glasses minimise unpleasant glare, ensure perfect colour and contrast perception, and at the same time reduce eye strain caused by bright light. Glasses with polarised lenses are a great accessory for outdoor activities, sport and shooting.

CAPTIVATE™ lens technology redefines what you can expect from sunglasses. At the heart of this technology is a filter that removes harmful light, enhances colours and contrast, and increases clarity. CAPTIVATE™ lenses also filter out optical haze and saturate colours, leading to a much better perception of space and depth. CAPTIVATE™ eliminates harmful UV and HEV radiation, which causes macular degeneration and cataracts.

The anti-reflective coating eliminates distracting light reflections on the back surface of the lenses and ensures that light is not reflected back into the eyes, thereby preventing visual distortion. Lenses with an anti-reflective coating reduce glare and not only provide you with greater comfort and clearer vision, but also ensure optimal conditions for your polarising filter.

All Wiley X lenses feature the patented T-Shell™ coating. This coating prevents accidental damage to the lenses. When you choose Wiley X glasses, you get not only lenses made from top-quality materials, but also a premium finish that ensures your product will last for years to come.

The oleophobic coating is a protective layer that prevents smudges. Applying this layer gives you lenses with a much smoother surface, which helps prevent dust, oil, dirt and water from sticking to the lenses. Ultimately, this prevents smudges and water spots from forming on the lenses, making them easier to clean and helping you maintain a clean surface and perfect visibility for longer.

All Wiley X glasses are supplied with lenses made from Selenite™ polycarbonate, which is composed of carbon and phenol atoms. These lenses offer up to ten times greater durability than standard glass lenses, whilst remaining lighter in weight. The reliability and, above all, the safety of the lenses are certified by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Despite their strength and weight, the lenses do not cause image distortion or reduce optical accuracy.

The ANSI Z87.1 safety standard sets a clear benchmark for eye protection when wearing sunglasses. This standard is defined by the American National Standards Institute. ANSI Z87.1 tests examine the mechanical resistance of the glasses and their protection against UV radiation according to very strict criteria.

Wiley X glasses that meet this standard are tested against the impact of a high-speed steel projectile with a diameter of 6.35 mm travelling at 164.6 km/h, and against the impact of a 500 g pointed cone dropped from a height of 127 cm.

ISO 12312-1 is a standard setting out clear safety requirements for protection against potentially harmful solar radiation during normal wear and whilst driving a motor vehicle. ISO 12312-1 is one of the standards which, once met, allows the CE mark to be used for products intended for use in EU countries.

CAPTIVATE™ polarised GREEN MIRROR lenses

Lenses designed for use on slightly overcast days. They minimise the effect of blue (HEV) light reflected from white and blue objects. They enhance the vibrancy of green, orange and blue colours and reduce unwanted glare from reflective surfaces. A welcome bonus is improved depth perception of objects underwater. 100% protection against UVA and UVB.
